TYPE OF CAMP: Overnight/Sleepaway. Three day art retreat

BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Camp ArtSeen is an all inclusive weekend art retreat that invites you to tap into your creative side and express yourself using a variety of techniques. In past years, we have carved cuttlebones to cast metal, explored watercolor techniques and painted a mural together.

Fine Arts/Crafts, and more.
CAMP LOCATION: The Wildwood Retreat Center is located in Guerneville which is about 90 minutes from San Francisco.
CAMP FACILITIES: Beautiful hiking trails, outdoor pool and spa, bedrooms which all have a view of the forest, and tent platforms in the trees.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Ron Hutt - Associate Professor of Digital Art and Design at the University of Rhode Island. Camp ArtSeen's Artist in Residence
Workshop title: Drawing as Offering
Artist Ron Hutt offers a unique approach to activating the creative imagination in this workshop. Using his theory and practice of Media Entanglement, participants will be introduced to a wide range of wet and dry media, innovative mark making and layering techniques with the goal of enhancing the development of their personal style of drawing and painting.
Three-Hour Workshop, July 25th
Title: Word into Art
Anna Novakov - Novakov holds a doctorate from New York University and is Professor of Art History at Saint Mary’s College of California.
This workshop, led by writer Anna Novakov, focuses on the role of text in the art making process. Public signage, words, letters, found texts, graffiti tags and collage can all be sources of ideas as well as forms of art in themselves.
